The Fool In The Game

BY CAROLE SAWO

“Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou be like unto him. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.”
[Proverbs 26:4-5]

Were they a complete sociopathic fool? Maybe. But ‘The Fool’, numbered zero of the Major Arcana, has many faces and an important role to play in the game. They are chaotic. They do not appear to play by the rules, and seem to have no awareness that there are any. They are apparently too foolish – but are they really?

The Joker, on the other hand, conspicuous by its absence in the conventional pack, certainly does know the rules. Its power lies in playing outside of them. Both occupy a position outside the established order, and that position gives them a peculiar power: they can see that the players inside the game have become too invested to question it. Or even, to see it!

In our world today, certainly the anaesthetised suicidal compassion being shown towards one’s opponent is active in a game in which the invisible player is the one currently set to win – where the real fool is the one who hosts them. So let’s disrupt all of that and bring in a healthy amount of compassionate detachment. I love you – but from over here. And that ocean between us is the necessary moat that sets the boundary and ensures sovereignty.

The clip I released today highlights the real role of The Fool in the game, and more importantly, how not to be fooled by them.

…and don’t miss those classes next week.  ‘The Psychoanalysis of Evil’ and ‘Anatomy of the Ego’. They are entirely new depth analysis!

Sometimes it takes one to know one. Sometimes it takes a second look to see clearly.

But then sometimes, it just takes a Queen to swan through the court and call out the jester!

All unbelievable things,
With love,
Carole
